About SFLAS 外国语学院简介

School of Foreign Languages & Area Studies ( SFLAS) is a well-established department teaching foreign languages and associated area studies (Business, Management, Communication, International Trade, Marketing, Accounting, Logistics, and Tourism etc).

北京东方大学外国语学院（ SFLAS ）是以教授英语及其他第二外语为主，并在其语言基础上同 时 教授商业、管理、交流、国际贸易、市场营销、会计、物流、旅游等专业学科的学院。

As one of the largest college in BOU, SFLAS operates its advanced courses and programs internationally. Most SFL staffs and teachers are full-time and from English-speaking countries or Chinese overseas, they all have a very good background in Business related, as well as sufficient knowledge in English Languages as the most basic skills required for the occupations.

作为北京东方大学最具有实力的学院之一，东外（ SFLAS ） 的专业学科建设均以国际语言课程标准为基础，并结合中国学生学习外语实际情况，于 2005 年全国独家首推 “ 全外教班主任 ” 管理制度以及 “ 中外双师课堂 ” （即外教＋中教同堂授课），在这种真正精心设计与打造的全外语环境下，学生外语学习进步神速，并取得了来自北京市教委评估小组领导和国外合作院校的高度好评与赞扬。

东外（ SFLAS ）的教师与员工大部分来自欧美归 国 教授或英语国家执教人员，他们除了应具备的扎实的外语语言功底以外，还具有商务知识理论与操作背景；这样才能将学生的语言与相关的专业更好的连接起来。

In recent years, for the best representation of BOU, SFLAS has carried out many forms of cultural and academic exchanges with lots of famous colleges and universities from United States , United Kingdom , and Malaysia etc. Now we are actively running the corporation project with International Import-Export Institute (US), University College Sedaya International (UCSI) ( Malaysia ) ， Limkokwing University College of Creative Technology ( Malaysia ), and International Hotel School (IHMES) ( UK )

东外（ SFLAS ）作为本校实行对外合作的主要窗口，一直以来积极并有效的开展对外合作。目前已经合作多年或以达成合作意向的校方有 “ 马来西亚思特雅 UCSI 大学 ” ， “ 马来西亚林国荣 Limkokwing 创意科技大学 ” ， “ 英国马恩岛国际酒店 IHMS 学校 ” 以及 “ 美国国际进出口 IIEI 协会 ” ；其中，涉及双方合作办学与颁发国际学历证书的学校均为中国教育部认可学校，参加这些合作项目的学生回国后均可获得归国留学生待遇。

We welcome applications from home and International students. We offer extra modules for home and overseas students studying on different courses and programs such as Cambridge Business English Certificate (BEC) and the Certified Exporter of US International Import & Export Institute (IIEI-CE).

SFLAS students are required to achieve the following three steps before they graduate:

•  Step One---Learning English language skills

•  Step Two---Learning business English communication skills

•  Step Three---Learning business in English

东外所有学生需要在毕业前达到以下要求 ：

•  第一步：学习并能运用扎实的语言知识（如：英语的听说读写）

•  第二步：学习并能运用专业外语知识进行交流 （如：商务英语的运用与交流）

•  第三步：以外语为基础，学习国内外的专业学科知识 （如：在懂得英语与商务英语的基础上，学习商务专科知识）
